Quibi is Developing a Series Based on James Patterson's Sci-Fi Thriller TOYS

We are hearing a few new things from the streaming service Quibi this week as they are building up the titles that they are prepping to bring to their service. Just yesterday we reported that the new series The Fugitive, based on the 1993 film, is landing at Quibi, with Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook starring.

We also know there will be a Varsity Blues series, as well as a horror series from the great Steven Spielberg. There are many more things, but I think the streamer still has an uphill battle against some of the giants who are already established or who have a crazy bounty to bring to the table. So it’s nice to hear the new content is still coming. I’m ready to be won over.

The newest series we have info on is a book to series adaptation from the James Patterson novel Toys. The series is being adapted by Melinda Hsu Taylor, who has worked on Medium, Lost, and The Vampire Diaries. The series is set in the near future, and here’s the description from the book:

Hays Baker and his wife Lizbeth possess super-human strength, extraordinary intelligence, stunning looks, and two beautiful children. Of course they do - they're Elites, endowed at birth with the very best that the world can offer. The only problem in their perfect world: humans.

The top operative for the Agency of Change, Hays has just won the fiercest battle of his career. He has been praised by the President, and is a national hero. But before he can savour his triumph, he receives an unbelievable shock that overturns everything he thought was true. Suddenly Hays is on the other side of the gun, forced to leave his perfect family and fight for his life.

Now a hunted fugitive, Hays is thrown into an existence he never dreamed possible - fighting to save humans from extinction.

This sounds like it could end up being a good series. Is it enough to convince you to subscribe?
