REACHER Spinoff Series Gets a Series Order From Prime Video and Story Details Revealed
Prime Video‘s Reacher franchise is expanding with a new spinoff series that will focus on the character Frances Neagley, and Maria Sten will return to reprise her role. The series has officially been given a series order.
The Untitled Neagley Project focuses on Sten’s Frances Neagley, "a private investigator in Jack Reacher’s circle.”
In the series, “When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell bent on justice.
“Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”
The news was shared by Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke while at the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event in London.
Sten was there as well and she shared her excitement saying: “I love Neagley. She’s so fun to play, she’s so quirky and has so much complexity.”
Sten continued, “I love doing character work, that’s how I was trained. I read all the books that she was in… I got into what I felt was her psyche. So, for me, I had it all there and I’m just thrilled to expand upon it further.
“It’s still Reacher, It’s still fun, splashy action and quick dialogue but it has something that’s Neagley, not Reacher. It’s the same fun tone but [the writers] make it its own.”
Reacher series creator Nick Santora developed the spinoff with writer Nicholas Wootton (Law & Order), and the two will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Santora and Wootton said in a statement: “Lee Child created an immensely rich character with Neagley, and Maria Sten brought her to life in such a vivid, authentic way in Reacher. Amazon, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios have been tremendous partners from the start, and we are excited to explore Neagley’s story further and dive into what makes her so unique.”
Sten added: “I’m beyond thrilled to further explore the world of Neagley further and her somewhat mysterious background. She’s such a wonderful character to play and I’m very excited for everyone to get to know her a little better.”
Reacher is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, and it’s one of the most popular shows on Prime Video. Alan Ritchson stars in the series, and Season 3 is currently in production.
