READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME Trailer Sends Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton Into Bloody Carnage Mayhem
Searchlight Pictures just released the first trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come and it looks like the wild, twisted party from the first film has only gotten bigger, meaner and even more entertaining.
Fans of the original thriller should be very happy because the sequel leans into everything that made the first movie such a blast and then piles on even more chaos.
This trailer sets the stage for a fresh round of carnage as Grace returns to face an even more elaborate nightmare.
The film picks up immediately after Grace’s brutal showdown with the Le Domas clan. The official logline lays out the challenge ahead:
“Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace (Samara Weaving) discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side.
“Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.”
So instead of one homicidal family, Grace is now being hunted by four, each trying to claim the ultimate power. The scope of this sequel is expanding the mythology behind the first movie and giving Grace a new dynamic with her sister Faith, who appears to be thrown into the madness without warning.
Weaving is back as Grace, still covered in dirt, blood and pure determination. Joining her is Newton as Faith MacCaullay, Grace’s younger sister who gets dragged into the fight for survival. The cast also brings in some exciting additions including Sarah Michelle Gellar as Ursula Danforth, Shawn Hatosy as Titus Danforth and David Cronenberg as Mr. Danforth.
The film also features Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and Elijah Wood, rounding out a group of characters who all look like they’re up to something deadly.
The original Ready or Not arrived in 2019 and followed Grace, a former foster kid who thought she found her forever family when she married Alex le Domas. Instead, she ended up in a twisted initiation ritual that turned her wedding night into a deadly free for all. Fans loved the blend of horror, comedy and chaos.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is directed by Matt Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who previously teamed up for the first movie and later jumped into the Scream franchise. The script comes from Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy and the film is produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Bradley J. Fischer.
The sequel arrives in theaters on April 10 and I’m exited to watch it!
