Rian Johnson Will Start Shooting His Original STAR WARS Trilogy This Year in Scotland
We don't really know what director Rian Johnson is planning for his original Star Wars trilogy. Hell, the last we heard he sais he wasn't even sure what he wanted to do with it. He must have an idea, though, because according to a Scottish news website, he will start shooting the film in June of this year in Argyll, Scotland and other surrounding areas off a major road named Rest And Be Thankful. A source told the site:
"As is now customary with any Star Wars production, the movie is shrouded in secrecy but they want to shoot scenes around the Rest and Be Thankful. Further filming has been pencilled in for elsewhere in the country."
All we know about the trilogy at this point is that it will be completely "separate from the episodic Skywalker saga" and Johnson will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never visited. It's also been confirmed that will not include anything from Knights of the Old Republic.
When talking about the film and his excitement for it Johnson said:
"I’m in the very beginning phases of coming up with it so right now the sky is kind of the limit. The appeal of it to me is to do a new story told over three movies, to have that kind of canvas, to be in the Star Wars world and to have the feel of a Star Wars film. Let’s tell one story over three movies, where we go to new places and meet new people. It’s a brand new story that feels like a great Star Wars story."
After seeing what Johnson did with The Last Jedi, I'm excited to see what he ends up doing with this new trilogy. I know not everyone is as excited as I am about that, but I love the fact that we are going to get a completely original Star Wars story. I can't wait to see what Johnson ends up giving us!
