Rosario Dawson Talks About Her Upcoming Role in THE MANDALORIAN and Her Dream STAR TREK Role
A few weeks ago, we reported that actress Rosario Dawson, who we know from Sin City, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and much more, will be joining the cast of the upcoming second season of the highly acclaimed Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian as the character Ahsoka Tano. But I guess even though it was widely reported, and Dawson is listed on the second season roster, not everything is completely set in stone.
According to the actress, in a recent interview with Variety, she said:
“That’s not confirmed yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point,” she said, adding it would be “a million and one percent because of the fans.”
So it sounds like they want her, and she wants the role. Maybe just some contract details need to be firmed up. It’s possible that the current pandemic just hit the pause button on everything, including solidifying deals. Dawson talked about how this role would fulfill half of her acting dreams, saying:
“The two universes, Star Trek’and Star Wars. I get in those two, I’m telling you, man, that’s it. I will just retire. And then I can just concentrate on going to school and running for office. That would be it.”
The self-proclaimed Trekkie said she would be happy just get a background role on any of the series, but said that while discussing the possibilities with her dad, he suggested she play Q, the omnipotent being seen across various Star Trek series. She said:
“I mean it would be great ‘cause then I could jump on Discovery. I could be on Picard. I just want to be with Jean-Luc Picard.”
This would be amazing. She already played a great role in the Marvel TV universe and has starred on Broadway, so to be able to also check these favorites off the list as well would just be incredible. She’s a fantastic actress, and I’m so happy for her to be joining The Mandalorian. It’s such a great series, and I can’t wait for it to come back! Hopefully she will also get to play her dream role in Star Trek someday as well.
Are you excited for her to play Ahsoka Tano in the upcoming season of The Mandalorian?
