ROSWELL Reboot Adds Tyler Blackburn and Nathan Parsons to Cast

A couple of weeks ago, we learned the lead role in The CW’s reboot of Roswell went to Jeanine Mason. We now know who will play her teenage crush who turns out to be an alien: Nathan Parsons from The Originals. Tyler Blackburn, of Pretty Little Liars fame, will play Sergeant Alex Manes. Sgt. Manes appears to be a soldier who, “after returning home from the Middle East aims to adhere to his father’s expectations, abandoning his dreams and the possibility of a future with the man he loves.”

The new Roswell reflects the realities of its location in a state bordering Mexico. After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, NM, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

I’m interested to see who else joins this reboot, and I plan on checking out the pilot whenever that airs. It’ll be interesting to see if this new take on the series will do well. Are the reboots of Roswell and Charmed a good move, or should they just focus on putting out more episodes of Whose Line is it Anyway?
