Rumored Details On How DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, THE PUNISHER, and SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Are Connected
Marvel Studios looks like it’s finally leaning into the street-level side of the MCU, and a new rumor may have revealed how Daredevil: Born Again, The Punisher Special Presentation, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are all tied together.
According to insider chatter, these projects aren’t just running in parallel. They’re being carefully placed along the same timeline. The Cosmic Circus writer Alex Perez shared what he’s heard, saying, "Born Again season 1, Punisher close to season 2, Brand New Day," before adding that Daredevil: Born Again plays a big role in setting up Spider-Man’s next adventure.
"Kingpin's Rule of Law and how it affects Spider-Man as a hero. Also, J. Jonah Jameson? Not the biggest fan of Kingpin. Sure, he agrees with the politics, but he sees through his web of lies."
That gives us a interesting picture of where things might be heading. While Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle will reportedly have a major role in the upcoming Spider-Man film, there’s no sign yet of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil swinging alongside Peter Parker. Still, Wilson Fisk’s rise as New York’s mayor seems like the thread pulling it all together.
Perez also clarified past comments about Marvel’s feelings toward the Netflix shows, saying, "When I said they weren’t impressed, that was back before the project was overhauled and reshot. And I don’t think they regret canonising it because, if anything, they double down on it in seasons 2 and 3."
That “doubling down” appears to include bringing back some familiar faces. Krysten Ritter is reportedly set to return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage not far behind. Iron Fist’s fate is still in limbo, but the fact that Daredevil: Born Again has already been renewed for a third season makes it feel more and more like the Defenders could reunite in the MCU.
If these rumors hold up, fans are in for a street-level crossover that could reshape Marvel’s New York.
