Rumored Story and Character Details Surface For SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel
The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is supposed to be the first Marvel Studios film to be released after Avengers 4. We don't really know what to expect from it, but Tom Holland and Michael Keaton will be reprising their roles as Spider-Man and The Vulture. They might also be joined by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is said to be in talks to play Mysterio.
We now have a few rumored details to share with you that have surfaced from CBM. There's no confirmation of anything you'll read here. They are just rumors, but there are rumors that have turned out to be true in the past, so I'm going to throw up a spoiler warning just to be safe.
These rumors include possible story and character info for the highly-anticipated sequel. I love what Marvel has done with Spider-Man so far and I can't wait to see how this sequel actually turns out! I do like some of what I'm hearing in these rumors, though.
This might be fan fiction, some aspects might be legit, but in the end, it gives us fans an opportunity to talk about the upcoming sequel and stuff that we might want to see happen in it.
So I guess we'll jump right into it!
The movie might not take place after Avengers 4. Even though it was previously revealed that the movie will pick up minutes after Avengers 4 ends, the film will actually be set before the events of Infinity War, which would certainly make things interesting. "Apparently, the sequel is going to end with the wall-crawler heading off on the field trip he ditches to go and help Iron Man save the word."
The movie is said to be a worldwide adventure for Spider-Man and will take place in England, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Italy. I guess they'll be on some kind of international field trip.
It's said that Mysterio might be teaming up with Rhino in the sequel. After What they did with the character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, I'd be fine with seeing Marvel's vision of the character being brought to life.
There might be a chance we will see Ant-Man and Daredevil show up in the sequel! Daredevil is a little hard to believe, but I would love to see Spider-Man and Daredevil meet up and possibly fight alongside each other! Even if the creative team wants this to happen, it might not, so don't get your hopes up.
There's word that they might be changing up Mysterio's origin a bit. He will reportedly live in London and is "a failed magician and actor rather than a stuntman and VFX expert." Apparently, the first battle between the two will take place on London's Westminster Bridge.
We might see the Jessica Drew version of Spider-Woman in the film, which would be awesome! I've been waiting for her to be introduced. This film version of the character, though, is said to be heavily based on Marvel's Felicia Hardy a.k.a. Black Cat. She would end up being the love interest of Peter Parker, which means the character may also be a teenager.
Oscorp and The Daily Bugle will only have brief cameos. The report mentions that Norman Osborn's company has bought Avengers Tower from Tony Stark and Spider-Man could be seen at one point reading the newspaper with a headline branding him a menace.
Aunt May is said to have a limited role in the sequel. Peter gets in a fight with Flash Thompson at one point, and don't expect Gwen Stay to show, but her father Captain George Stacy will be mentioned.
Then there's Michelle a.k.a. "M.J." who will reportedly have red hair in the sequel. It's also claimed that she'll say MJ's famous "Face it, Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!" line from the comic books at some point.
The sequel may also be laying the groundwork to eventually introduce Doctor Octopus. It's said that he'll "either have a minor role as a teacher in Peter's school or will be showing the kids around some sort of scientific facility in the sequel." I imagine if this is true, Marvel will cast a big name actor to play the character.
They even claim to have details on the mid-credit scene which could involve Mysterio escaping from prison alongside The Vulture and Scorpion. This will supposedly all lead to the Sinister Six coming together in Spider-Man 3.
One more thing... the title. According to the report, the sequel might end up being called Spectacular Spider-Man.
Again, this is all just a rumor, but what do you think about these details? Would you like a sequel with these elements? Is there anything else you're hoping for?
