Russell Crowe Joins Sony's Upcoming Marvel Film KRAVEN THE HUNTER

Russell Crowe has joined Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony’s upcoming Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter. We still don’t have any story details to share, and there’s no information on who Crowe is playing in the film, but he’ll make a great addition, and it’ll be interesting to see what role he takes on.

This isn’t the first Marvel movie that Crowe is a part of. He’s also playing Zeus in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. I don’t expect to see these two worlds cross over with each other, so I imagine it won’t be a problem.

J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) is set to direct from a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man). The initial draft of the script was written by Richard Wenk. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the film.

In a previously released casting description, Kraven The Hunter was described as being of Russian origin, with "superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes." It goes on to say that this "maniacal big-game hunter seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world." He’s also described as a "Bourne-like bounty hunter.”

I’ve always liked Kraven The Hunter and his goal of hunting down and killing Spider-Man. I have no idea if we’ll see Spider-Man in this movie. I imagine we won’t, so it will be interesting to see what they do with Kraven in the movie.

Kraven the Hunter will be released on January 13th, 2023.
