Russell Crowe and Rami Malek Face Off in Intense Trailer for the WWII Film NUREMBERG
Sony Pictures Classics has dropped the full trailer for Nuremberg, the powerful new historical drama written and directed by James Vanderbilt, who previously helmed Truth and penned screenplays for Zodiac and The Amazing Spider-Man.
Based on The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai, this chilling film dives deep into the psychological aftermath of World War II, centering on the infamous Nuremberg Trials and the minds behind unimaginable evil.
The story follows a U.S. Army psychiatrist, Rami Malek as Douglas Kelley, who is assigned to evaluate captured Nazi leaders before their trials begin. As Kelley studies these men, particularly the notorious Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe), his fascination with understanding the roots of evil spirals into dangerous obsession.
The official synopsis reads: “The Allies, led by the unyielding chief prosecutor, Robert H. Jackson (Michael Shannon), have the task of ensuring the Nazi regime answers for the unveiled horrors of the Holocaust while a US Army psychiatrist (Malek) is locked in a dramatic psychological duel with the former Reichsmarschall Herman Göring (Crowe).”
The film brings together a powerhouse cast that also includes Leo Woodall, Richard E. Grant, John Slattery, Mark O'Brien, Colin Hanks, Lydia Peckham, and Wrenn Schmidt. Each performance appears to add emotional gravity to this retelling of one of history’s most pivotal moments of justice.
The trailer teases gripping courtroom sequences and tense psychological exchanges, spotlighting the battle between logic, morality, and manipulation.
Nuremberg will examine how humanity confronts its darkest truths. It’s a reminder of how close the line can be between understanding evil and becoming consumed by it.
Sony Pictures Classics will release Nuremberg in select U.S. theaters on November 7, 2025.
