Ryan Reynolds Shares New DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Scene Revealing That Gambit Lives!
Ryan Reynolds recently shared an exciting new scene from Deadpool & Wolverine that reveals that Channing Tatum’s Gambit survived the battle in the Void and also that he has a way out of the wasteland as an interdimensional portal can be seen opening up in the reflection of Gambit’s eyes.
This means the door is open for Tatum’s Gambit to return to his home universe or go anywhere in the multiverse that he wants.
Now, it’s not confirmed that Tatum’s Gambit will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this is a pretty big tease that there is a chance!
Now, this isn’t a deleted scene, Reynolds explains that this is actually in the movie, he says: “A version of this sequence is in the film, playing on one of the monitors in deep background of the TVA.”
Tatum previously reflected on his time trying to get a Gambit movie off the ground, saying: “It was at Fox first. I worked on it for like six years trying to get a stand-alone [movie] to happen.
“Then, right on the one-yard line, we were about to make the movie and then Fox got bought by Disney. Kevin Feige, who runs Marvel, I love him so much. He literally was like, ‘Look, I love Gambit, I just don’t know how to do it right now.
“I don’t know how he fits into what we’re doing so I need to have a minute to figure it out.’ Now, we’ve sort of cracked a little bit of a code.”
When asked if he’d still be willing to star in a Gambit solo movie, Tatum said: “I would kill kittens to make [one]. I’d do lots of terrible things to make that happen.”
Tatum went on to praise Ryan Reynolds for allowing his live-action version of Gambit to finally come to life in Deadpool & Wolverine.
“This industry is a really interesting thing. I can honestly say that not one single person is just more of a class-act and cares more than that man. He took Gambit out of truly the grave.
“He was just nothing and nowhere. [Reynolds] was like, ‘I want this for you, I want this in the movie, and I want to see it.’ He made it happen and I’ll forever be grateful to him.”
Tatum admitted that he still wants to make a standalone Gambit movie, adding: “I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years. It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God.”
I think Marvel fans would welcome a standalone Gambit movie. It doesn’t even have to be connected to anything else in the MCU, it could just be a fun and cool solo Gambit film! Why not!?
