Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner Hit the Road in First Teaser Trailer for CAROLINA CAROLINE

Magnolia Pictures shared the first teaser trailer for Carolina Caroline, and it looks like we’re in for a wild, messy, romantic crime ride this summer.

Directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier (Dinner in America, Snack Shack), the movie pairs Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner in a story that blends love, crime, and a whole lot of bad decisions across the American Southeast.

Weaving plays Caroline Daniels, a woman stuck in a small Texas town, dreaming of something bigger than the life she’s been handed. That spark turns into a full-blown fire when she crosses paths with a slick drifter played by Gallner.

He pulls off a small con, she notices, and that moment sets everything in motion. What starts as curiosity quickly evolves into a partnership built on scams, adrenaline, and something a lot more complicated.

Here’s the official description: "In his latest slice of anarchic Americana, writer-director Adam Carter Rehmeier first introduces us to the always effervescent Samara Weaving as Caroline.

“Listless and living a small life in a small town, she dutifully cares for her single father (Jon Gries) though she longs to break from her dusty and dull world.

“But when she observes a handsome drifter (Kyle Gallner) pull a sly con for a few bucks, her curiosity sparks an introduction that ignites an apprenticeship. Before long, their lucrative, if untenable, criminal enterprise dovetails into a passionate romance."

The supporting cast includes Kyra Sedgwick and Jon Gries. Early reactions have labeled the film a "rip-roaring, tragic, joyride" with "a pair of dynamite lead performances," which is a solid endorsement.

I really loved the director’s last film, Snack Shack, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this next film of his turns out. It looks like it leans into character-driven chaos.

Magnolia Pictures will release Carolina Caroline in select U.S. theaters on June 5th, 2026.
