Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders Join SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME
Spider-Man: Far From Home has added two more seasoned MCU stars. According to Vulture, Samuel L. Jackson and Colbie Smulders will reprise their roles of Nick Fury and Agent Maria Hill.
Both characters were last seen disintegrating into ash after Thanos snapped his fingers and destroyed half of the universe. Obviously, they won't be dead for long. There's no word on how they will be utilized in the story, but it will be fun to see how they play into it and what kind of interaction they will have with Spider-Man.
Jackson will next be seen in Captain Marvel as he will be playing a younger version of Fury in the 90s. That's going to offer us a fun background on the character as it also set up the most powerful hero in the universe... Captain Marvel.
We don't know much about the story that the sequel will tell but we do know that Peter Parker will be on summer vacation with his friends in Europe and that at some point he will be facing off with the villain Mysterio. The movie stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Michael Keaton, Jake Gyllenhaal, J.B. Smoove, and Numan Acar.
Jon Watts is directing the film from a script written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters July 5, 2019.
