Samuel L. Jackson to Play the President in New Joel Kinnaman Action Thriller THE BEAST
Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to play the President of the United States in a new action thriller film titled The Beast. He will star alongside Suicide Squad actor Joel Kinnaman, and this sounds like it could end up being a badass film!
The film’s title is in reference to a presidential limousine nicknamed “The Beast” by the Secret Service. The impenetrable tank is stocked with grenades, shotguns, armor plating and bullet- and bombproofing.
In the film, “When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the U.S., the president (Jackson) uncovers the extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities. Separated from his wife, the president must learn to control The Beast — and the monster inside himself — in order to save his life, the life of Secret Service agent Taft (Kinnaman) and America.”
The movie will be directed by James Madigan, the second unit director of films such as The Meg and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The screenplay was written by Umair Aleem (Kate). Director Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Patriots Day, Friday Night Lights) is producing the project.
This will be the second time that Jackson will have played the President as he previously played him in the 2014 film Big Game. So, I guess you could say that Jackson has been elected for a second term.
