Sarah Silverman Joins Bradley Cooper's Leonard Bernstein Biopic MAESTRO

Sarah Silverman has joined Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro, which Cooper stars in and directs. He is playing the iconic composer, and there have been some photos shared of him in the role.

Silverman will take on the role of Bernstein’s sister. The film also stars Carey Mulligan as Bernstein’s wife Felicia Montealegre, as well as Matt Bomer and Maya Hawke.

Maestro will tell the “complex love story of Leonard and Felicia, a story that spans over 30 years–from the time they met in 1946 at a party and continuing through two engagements, a 25 year marriage, and three children: Jamie Bernstein, Alexander Bernstein and Nina Bernstein Simmons.”

Cooper co-wrote the screenplay with Spotlight scribe Josh Singer, and he worked closely with the Bernstein family for three years developing the film. The producers on the project include Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Fred Berner and Amy Durning.

Maestro will be released on Netflix at some point in 2023.
