Scarlett Johansson's New White Costume For Marvel's BLACK WIDOW Unveiled at D23
During Marvel’s D23 presentation on Saturday, the studio shared some pretty radical new footage from Marvel’s upcoming Black Widow movie.
The first part of the footage that was shared was the same thing that was screened at Comic-Con earlier this summer. The second half was loaded with completely different footage that features Scarlett Johnson’s Natasha Romanoff hanging out with David Harbour's Red Guardian in his full costume and Florence Pugh's character, Yelena Belova.
Red Guardian tells them in a Russian accent, "Family, back together again," and that is followed by a few shots of the "family" in action as they are fighting off a bunch of people. There's a fun little moment between Yelena and Natasha where Yelena jokes about Natasha’s fighting pose saying, "the pose, the fighting pose" and then calls her "a total poser." It’s a fun bit of amusing banter.
We also get to see a quick shot of Rachel Weisz as Melina. She previously revealed that the movie would feature multiple Black Widows.
The end of the footage shows Black Widow wearing an all new white costume. It’s very different look for the character, but I assume it’s used for a snowy environment like Russia, but it doesn’t look very warm! We also see footage of her fighting the villain Taskmaster, the identity of which has yet to be revealed.
But, we have photos of the new white costume to share with you! It was unveiled at the Marvel booth at D23 and I snapped some photos for you that you can check out below.
Directed by Cate Shortland (Lore) from a script by Jac Schaeffer (The Hustle), Black Widow will be released in theaters on May 1st, 2020.
