Scary New Trailer for INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER Teases a Nightmare That’s Escaping Into the Real World
Sony Pictures has unleashed the second and final trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further, and if you thought the franchise had already explored every terrifying corner of the Further, this new footage says otherwise.
The latest preview is packed with creepy imagery, disturbing creatures, unsettling moments, and the kind of supernatural horror that has made this series a favorite among genre fans for more than a decade.
This marks the sixth film in the Insidious franchise, following Insidious: The Red Door in 2023. Ever since James Wan introduced audiences to the terrifying world of the Further with the original Insidious in 2010, the series has delivered plenty of memorable scares.
That first movie is still one of my favorite modern horror films, and it's been fun watching this universe continue to grow. From everything this latest trailer shows, Insidious: Out of the Further looks like another creepy chapter that's going to leave audiences thoroughly freaked out.
This time around, the story shifts its focus to an entirely new family. A trio of stalkers invades a quiet suburban neighborhood, forcing their victims into the astral plane.
Once they enter the Further, they discover something far more horrifying than a haunted house or a lingering spirit. The barrier between worlds is beginning to break.
The trailer leans all the way into that premise. It throws out one unsettling visual after another, teasing twisted creatures, disturbing hauntings, and some impressively gruesome horror moments. It definitely feels like the filmmakers are pushing the supernatural side of the franchise into darker territory.
The film stars Amelia Eve (Leopard Skin), Brandon Perea (Nope), Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Sam Spruell, Island Austin, Laura Gordon, and, of course, Lin Shaye, whose presence has become one of the defining elements of the Insidious series.
Insidious: Out of the Further was written and directed by Jacob Chase, whose previous work includes Come Play and the series The Girl in the Woods.
The film is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse alongside Oren Peli, James Wan for Atomic Monster, and Leigh Whannell. It's a collaboration between Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films, Blumhouse, and Atomic Monster.
I've had a great time following this franchise over the years, and I'm always interested to see how each new movie expands the mythology of the Further.
This latest trailer sold me on the idea that the filmmakers still have plenty of frightening ideas left to explore. If the finished movie delivers on even half of the nightmare fuel teased here, horror fans are going to have a blast watching audiences squirm in their seats.
Insidious: Out of the Further opens in theaters on August 21, 2026.
