SCREAM 6 Will Be "More Gory" and Have The Most "Violent Version of Ghostface" Ever
The Scream franchise has always featured a good amount of intense violence, blood, and gore. Those are things you know you’re going to get when you see a Scream movie. But, according to Scream star Jenna Ortega, the upcoming Scream 6 will be taking those aspects to a whole new level.
Ortega plays Tara Carpenter, who survived the most recent Ghostface murder spree. She read the script for the next film and told Entertainment Tonight that it’s going to be the goriest, most aggressive, and violent Scream movie yet. She said:
“Ghostface gets a lot more intimidating. I just read part of the script, and it just gets more and more gory. I think that this is probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we’ve ever seen, which I think will really be fun to shoot.”
So, that’ll be interesting for fans of the franchise to see. Are they just going to turn this franchise into a bloodbath? Is that the plan to evolve the franchise? More blood, gore, and violence? I just want to see them keep the story fresh and interesting.
The cast also includes Melissa Barrera as Sam, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy, Mason Gooding as Chad, Hayden Panettiere as Kirby, and Dermot Mulroney. Courteney Cox also previously confirmed her involvement. When asked about Panettiere returning to the franchise, Ortega said:
“I’m not even going to try to touch on it. She has been one of my favorite characters in the franchise for a long time so the fact that her character gets to come back and redeem herself is really exciting.”
The movie is being directed by the Radio Silence directing team, which consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay, and it’s set to start shooting in early summer. Scream 6 will get a theatrical release on March 31, 2023.
