Scripts Are Already Ready for ONCE PIECE Season 2 and It Could Premiere in a Year
The live-action adaptation of One Piece has been a huge hit for Netflix, and it’s currently the number one rated series. It’s safe to say that Season 2 is going to happen and that we’ll get to see the grand swashbuckling adventures of Monkey D. Luffy continue!
The series comes from Tomorrow Studios and CEO Marty Adelstein recently offered an optimistic update on the second season saying the scripts are ready and it could premiere in a year. Adelstein shared: "We've got scripts ready. Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility.” Becky Clements shared. "Somewhere between a year and 18 months, we could be ready for air."
Now, that all depends on what happens with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The first season of One Piece was such an amazingly entertaining show, and I hope that Season 2 ends up being just as great. They can take their time with it as long they deliver another top-notch chapter to such a fun story.
One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew as they explore a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King.
The other main characters include Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
Steven Maeda is a co-writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the series along with Matt Owens, who is also co-writing and executive producing. The series also stars Morgan Davies (The Evil Dead) as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls) as Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action Point) as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Hacks) as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) as Arlong, and Vincent Regan (Troy) as Garp.
