Sebastian Stan Says Hugh Jackman Has Been Thinking About Coming Back as Wolverine For Marvel

So look, we all know that Hugh Jackman said he was completely dine with playing Wolverine after Logan. As hard as it was to hear that we'd never see Jackman play Wolverine again, Jackman ended his time as Wolverine on a high note. Logan was incredible and if he never plays Wolverine again at least he ended it with, in my opinion, his greatest performance ever. 

Well, it sounds like Jackman might actually be thinking about coming back now that Marvel and Fox have joined forces and we will see the X-Men finally crossover with the Avengers. The information came from MCU star Sebastian Stan during a panel at Ace Comic Con. While there, he shared a story of how he asked Hugh Jackman about the possibility of returning. Here's what Stan had to say:

"Recently I happened to be sitting next to Hugh Jackman. I didn't know what other awkward thing I could talk about but to be like, 'Am I going to see you soon?' I don't know. But he said a couple of things to me and I'll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I feel like I'm going to get into trouble with somebody."

It didn't seem like getting in trouble bothered him that much because he continued:

"I asked him because I kept thinking he said whether or not that was, Logan, was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing or whatever and he said to me, well I think he publicly said out there, which was like he's been thinking about it and it's been on his mind. So, I don't know, he may be."

So, is Hugh Jackman actually thinking about coming back to the role of Wolverine? Stan doesn't really have any reason to make this up, so who knows. Why would he just bring it up like that unless it Jackman said something note worthy? Jackman recently commented on the idea of coming back after the Disney-Fox merger and this is what he said:

“It’s interesting because for the whole 17 years I kept thinking that would be so great, like I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head. But it was like, 'Oh well, that’s not gonna happen,' and it was interesting just when I first saw that headline — it was just the possibility of it and who knows what’s gonna happen, obviously — I was like, 'Hang on!' But I think, unfortunately, the ship has sailed for me, but for someone else I would like to see Wolverine in there."

Well, Sebastian Stan may have gotten our hopes up, but as far as we know at this moment, Logan was Jackman's final performance as Wolverine and I'm ok with that. I just assume that Marvel is going to end up rebooting the whole thing anyway.
