Sebastian Stan’s THE BATMAN: PART II Comments Have DC Fans Wondering if He’s Actually Playing Hush Instead of Two-Face

Ever since Sebastian Stan was linked to The Batman: Part II, most fans assumed he’d be stepping into the role of Harvey Dent and eventually becoming Two-Face. Now, thanks to a new comment from the actor himself, DC fans are spinning up fresh theories that he may actually be playing someone much different.

While speaking with Deadline about the upcoming DC sequel, Stan teased what’s ahead for him in the movie and dropped a comment that instantly sent the internet into detective mode.

“I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself,” he said while discussing the project and his time filming in London this summer. The report also noted he spoke “of taking on Two-Face and working with the hair and makeup teams who have devised how his disfigurement will look.”

But it was another quote that really caught fans’ attention. Stan reportedly said he’ll play “many roles in this one,” and comic book fans immediately started wondering if Matt Reeves might be pulling off a bigger twist.

Theories exploded on X, with fans asking “what if he's actually playing Thomas Elliot” one fan posted, referring to the Batman villain better known as Hush, the surgically altered mastermind obsessed with destroying Bruce Wayne’s life.

Another wrote: “Ok soooo.... either Hush or still Harvey Dent....” Then things got even more interesting with one fan theory suggesting Reeves could be combining characters entirely:

“I think they're going to merge Harvey Dent and Hush into Two-Face and lean heavily on the split personality disorder. So Sebastian Stan will be playing Harvey Dent but he'll also be playing Thomas Elliott as his other personality where he is Hush.”

Other reactions included: “Tommy Elliot incoming???????” and “He gotta be playing Hush right?” Fans have been connecting dots ever since The Batman featured the words “HUSH MONEY” during Bruce Wayne’s investigation into his family’s corruption.

At the time, plenty of viewers saw it as a pretty obvious nod toward the villain’s eventual arrival in Reeves’ Gotham.

Of course, Stan’s “many roles” comment could simply mean he’ll be portraying the different emotional sides of Harvey Dent before and after his transformation into Two-Face. That’s a massive character shift on its own, especially in the grounded and psychologically driven world Reeves has been building.

Still, now that the Hush theories are out there, DC fans are going to be dissecting every rumor and set leak for the next several months.

The Batman: Part II is currently set to hit theaters on October 1.
