Set Photos Surface From Lucasfilm's STAR WARS: ACOLYTE Series Offering a First Look at Some Characters
Lucasfilm is currently in the middle of production on its upcoming series Star Wars: Acolyte, and these photos offer a first look at some of the characters that will be introduced in the story.
The story is described as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The High Republic is set 200 years before the Skywalker Saga begins.
The series stars Amandla Steinberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lee Jung-jae, Dean Charle Chapman, and Dafne Keen (Logan. His Dark Materials). Some of whom you can see in the photos below.
There are some interesting-looking characters here, one of which is a Wookie, so that’s cool. I’m curious about this show, but after watching Andor, the bar is set super high. I just don’t know if this show is going to reach those high storytelling standards. Hopefully, Lucasfilm and the creative team prove me wrong!
The series is being developed by Leslye Headland who serves as director, writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Headland has been working very closely with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy on this project.
The story will explore an interesting era that has only been explored in a series of books and comics so far. It is the golden age of the Jedi, when the Jedi were at their strongest and the Sith were believed to have been eradicated from the galaxy. The term “acolyte” refers to individuals with Force abilities who learn from a more experienced Sith Lord.
It was also previously explained that the show “specifically explores the rise of the Dark Side in those final days of the High Republic era.” The series is also said to explore some major Sith characters from Star Wars Legends. Do you think this show is going to be a hit or a miss?
