Seth Rogen Shares TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Fun Teaser Image and Reveals Release Date
Nickelodeon is currently developing a new CG-animated reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Seth Rogen and his long-time producing partner Evan Goldberg producing the project.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Rogen has planned for the project, but he recently shared a teaser image that fans might enjoy. The image is of a crumpled piece of paper with doodles and notes about the upcoming project.
The note comes from Leonardo, and in the upper right corner, the release date of the film was revealed. That release date August 11th, 2023. The other notes on the paper touch on different types of mutation, the importance of discipline, honor, and loyalty, a note to apologize to April, and more. Check it out below:
In a previous interview, Rogen opened up about what they are looking to do with the new TMNT movie and how it will be different from the other iterations we’ve seen. He explains that this new film will lean more towards a teenage coming-of-age story:
“As a lifelong fan of Ninja Turtles, weirdly the ‘Teenage’ part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always the part that stuck out to me the most. And as someone who loves teenage movies, and who’s made a lot of teenage movies, and who literally got their start in their entire profession by writing a teenage movie, the idea of kind of honing in on that element was really exciting to us. I mean, not disregarding the rest, but really using that as kind of a jumping off point for the film.”
Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Connected) is set to direct the project while Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors: Sorority Rising) is writing the script. It’ll be cool to see what story the film tells and what kind of animation style that it will have.
