Sony Pictures Confirms UNCHARTED Sequel is Officially in Development with Tom Holland
The 2022 film version of Uncharted was easily one of the worst films that I saw that year. The whole direction they took the franchise and the script they wrote for it was just the worst.
Regardless, Sony Pictures is officially moving forward with a sequel. This news was confirmed by Sony’s president of international distribution Steven O'Dell during the CineEurope trade show while listing Sony Pictures films that are currently in the works.
No details were given about the story, but frankly, I don’t care. With the way Sony Pictures runs things over there with some of the properties they have, the sequel is sure to be just as bad as the first movie, or maybe even worse.
The producer of the film, Charles Rover, is kind of delusional about the Uncharted franchise because he actually believes that they made a good movie!
He previously said: "Oh yeah! We had a really good time with that movie. The fans really liked the movie, and people who didn’t know anything about the game really liked the movie. So we are definitely looking to make another one of those."
I have yet to talk to anyone that actually liked the movie, especially any fan of the game, so I think he’s just blowing smoke out of his ass. Sure, some people out there liked the movie, I’m just saying I’ve never met one of them.
I was hoping that Sony would scrap any plans for a sequel to the Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg movie, but they’re moving forward with it and Holland and Wahlberg are expected to return. Count me out.
