Sony Pictures Sets Dates For George Clooney & Brad Pitt’s WOLFS and Scarlett Johansson & Channing Tatum New Project
Sony Pictures has announced the release dates for two big film projects in collaboration with Apple Original Films. From A-list actors to riveting plotlines, these films are sure to bring audiences to theaters.
First up is the untitled Apple Original Films production starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. Previously known as Project Artemis, this film is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2024. It's also scheduled to screen in premium large formats, ensuring an immersive cinematic experience. Columbia Pictures will be distributing this eagerly awaited project.
Directed by Greg Berlanti, Project Artemis boasts an ensemble cast that also includes Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, Christian Zuber, and Woody Harrelson.
Set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race, this film is scripted by Rose Gilroy. Johansson serves as a producer under her banner, These Pictures, with Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn joining her as producers. Sarah Schechter contributes to the production through Berlanti Productions, while Robert Dohrmann takes on the role of executive producer.
The film originally caught headlines when Apple secured the Project Artemis film package for a whopping $100 million deal back in 2022. At that time, Chris Evans was set to star, with Jason Bateman directing. However, due to schedule changes resulting from Bateman's departure—reportedly due to creative differences—the torch was passed to Scarlett Johansson. Filming took place last fall in Atlanta, building even more anticipation among fans.
The other film is Wolfs, a captivating Apple Original Films project starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Directed by Jon Watts, Wolfs is set to hit IMAX and premium large format screens on September 20th, 2024. This thrilling film follows two lone-wolf fixers assigned to the same job and features Amy Ryan in a key role.
Jon Watts, who is also the writer, produces Wolfs alongside Dianne McGunigle. Clooney, known for his Smokehouse Pictures, is a producer, and he shares this role with Grant Heslov. Brad Pitt, along with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner from Plan B Entertainment, rounds out the producing team.
