Sony Reportedly Wants To Develop a MYSTERIO Solo Movie

I loved how Mysterio ended up being handled in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Jake Gyllenhaal was great in the role. While the character did end up dying at the end of Far From Home, Sony Pictures reportedly wants to make a solo film that focuses on the villainous character.

The rumor comes from The Illuminerdi, and if this is actually true the movie would have to either be a prequel movie, which wouldn’t make sense because we already got his backstory, or since Mysterio is the master of illusion, we learn that he didn’t really die and the next film will continue his story. Faking his own death isn’t too far-fetched of an idea.

The site offers no other details, but if this is the case, you’d think Spider-Man would have to be involved somehow. His return is possible. After all, they are bringing Vulture back in Morbius. Then there’s Venom, Kraven, and Morbius, who are all getting solo films. This could all lead to a Sinister Six movie, which has also been rumored. Mysterio would play a big part in that.
