SPACEBALLS: THE NEW ONE Is Landing in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con and Fans Are Finally About to See Something

Spaceballs fans are actually getting a sequel, it's less than a year away, and San Diego Comic-Con is about to give fans their first real taste of what Spaceballs: The New One has in store.

Even though the movie doesn't hit theaters for another nine months, it's officially making its way to Hall H, which makes it one of the biggest events of Comic-Con 2026.

That's exciting for more than one reason. Not only are fans getting the sequel they've waited nearly 40 years for, but almost nobody outside of CinemaCon attendees has seen anything from the movie. That looks like it's about to change.

The panel is scheduled for 4 p.m. PST on July 24, and the official description keeps things intentionally mysterious:

“The cast and filmmakers from the upcoming film Spaceballs: The New One offer a behind-the-Schwartz look at the sequel to the 1987 Mel Brooks cult classic.

“Between the reboots, legacy sequels, and cinematic universes competing for nostalgic attention this weekend, this is the one prepared to say exactly what it is doing. Buckle up. Ludicrous speed ahead.”

It's a fun tease, but it doesn't reveal who'll actually be taking the stage. Will Mel Brooks be there? Which cast members are making the trip? Those details are still being kept under wraps.

That mystery fits with how the movie has been handled so far. Very little has been revealed about the story, and fans have been piecing together clues wherever they can.

The biggest preview came during CinemaCon back in April, when MGM and Amazon screened the first footage exclusively for theater owners and members of the press.

From everything that was shown, the sequel appears to follow a familiar legacy sequel formula, connecting the original heroes with a new generation in a way that's reminiscent of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The returning cast includes Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, Daphne Zuniga, and Bill Pullman, all reprising their beloved roles. Joining them are Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, and Anthony Carrigan, who'll help usher the franchise into its next chapter.

Now the big questions is which of those actors will show up in Hall H? How much footage will fans actually get to see? And maybe the biggest question of all, will whatever is shown stay exclusive to the Hall H crowd, or will the rest of us finally get our first official look online afterward?

One thing's for sure. This panel just shot to the top of the must-see list at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, and if there's new footage, surprise guests, or any major reveals, we'll be following every second of it.

Spaceballs: The New One blasts into theaters on April 23, 2027.
