SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE Lands a New, Earlier Release Date

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has officially locked in a new release date. Fans of Miles Morales have been on quite the rollercoaster with this sequel. The film’s release date has shifted around more than once, but it looks like we have a solid date locked in.

According to Variety, the third entry in Sony’s Spider-Verse saga will now open in US theaters on June 18, 2026. The movie was first slated for March 29, 2024, but production delays and the SAG-AFTRA strikes forced Sony to pull it from the calendar back in July 2023.

Since then, it was re-dated for June 4, then June 25, and now lands right in the middle of summer, arriving close to both Father’s Day. It will also face some major box office competition, opening just a week after How to Train Your Dragon 2 and sharing its launch day with Disney’s Gatto.

The filmmakers promise the wait will be worth it. “We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can't wait for fans to experience it,” co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson said. “We're bringing everything we've got.”

The excitement is high considering how the last film left things hanging. Released in 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reunited Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, with Gwen Stacy, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, before throwing them deep into the Multiverse.

Along the way, fans met countless Spider-People and explored wild new dimensions. The story took a darker turn as Miles found himself hunted by his fellow heroes and forced to question what being Spider-Man really means.

With Beyond the Spider-Verse promising to deliver a conclusion to Miles’ epic journey, fans can finally mark their calendars for June 18. After years of waiting, it looks like Miles’ next chapter is finally within reach.
