SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Reportedly Swings Past Every Other Spider-Man Movie With a Longer Runtime

Spider-Man fans may want to get comfortable in their theater seats because Spider-Man: Brand New Day is reportedly set to be the longest Spider-Man movie ever made.

According to AMC Theatres, the upcoming Marvel film is listed with a runtime of 150 minutes, which comes out to two and a half hours. If that listing holds true, it will edge past Spider-Man: No Way Home, which currently holds the record as the longest Spider-Man movie at 148 minutes.

That runtime doesn't just put Brand New Day at the top of the Spider-Man franchise. It also places it among some of the longest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Only Eternals (156 minutes), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (161 minutes), and Avengers: Endgame (181 minutes) would remain ahead of it on the MCU runtime chart.

For a character who has often thrived in fast-moving, tightly paced adventures, a 150-minute runtime suggests Marvel and Sony have a lot of story to tell with Peter Parker's next chapter.

In the film, following the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker is living in a world where nobody remembers who he is. His friends, loved ones, and the rest of the planet have forgotten his secret identity, leaving him to start over completely on his own.

Based on what we've seen in the first trailer, moving forward isn't proving easy. Peter is still carrying the emotional weight of losing the life he once had, especially when it comes to MJ. While he's trying to embrace this fresh start, the past doesn't seem ready to let go.

As if rebuilding his life wasn't enough, Peter will also be dealing with some dangerous new complications. The film is set to feature Jon Bernthal's Punisher, bringing one of Marvel's most ruthless vigilantes into Spider-Man's corner of the MCU.

Fans will also see Michael Mando finally return as Scorpion, a character who has been waiting in the wings since his brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Then there's the mystery surrounding Sadie Sink's character. Marvel has kept details completely under wraps, and speculation continues to run wild regarding who she could be playing. Then, he’ll also be dealing with The Hand and Hunk.

With all of those story threads in play, the extended runtime starts to make a lot more sense. Marvel appears to be giving Peter Parker room to process the fallout from No Way Home while also setting up major developments for the future of the MCU.

Spider-Man remains one of Marvel's most popular heroes, and if this reported runtime is accurate, audiences will be spending more time with the wall-crawler than ever before when Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters.

The wait for another look at the film may not be much longer, either. Reports indicate that a second trailer could be arriving soon, giving fans a better idea of what Peter's next adventure has in store.

Amazon has also announced early screenings for Prime members in the United States, allowing some fans to catch the movie two days before its wide release.

For now, it looks like Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of Marvel's biggest and most ambitious Spider-Man stories yet. And if Peter Parker thought starting over would make life simpler, it seems he's about to learn the exact opposite.
