SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Rumor Says Spider-Queen Is Leader of the Hand
Spider-Man is about to have a seriously crowded battlefield. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to throw a wild mix of villains at Peter Parker, and now there’s a fresh detail that adds an unexpected twist to the chaos.
A new rumor points to a powerful and creepy comic-book character stepping in to lead The Hand, and it could make things very messy for Spidey.
It’s been four years since Spider-Man: No Way Home left Peter Parker starting over, and according to insider Alex Perez, he won’t be short on enemies this time around.
In fact, the next chapter reportedly gives him a “fairly established rogues gallery.” The lineup is said to include Tombstone, Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and the Hand. On top of that, Rhino, the Jackal, and even 8-Ball have been floating around in rumor territory.
The inclusion of the Hand is especially interesting. The ninja organization first showed up in Daredevil before playing a bigger role in Iron Fist and The Defenders. By the end of The Defenders, it looked like the group had been completely wiped out.
Their leaders, known as the Five Founders, were all taken out, including Alexandra Reid, Murakami, Madame Gao, Bakuto, and Sowande.
So if they’re back in Brand New Day, something big has changed.
According to Perez, that change comes in the form of a new leader, and it’s a deep-cut Spider-Man villain. The Hand is rumored to now be under the control of Spider-Queen.
In the comics, she’s no joke. She’s got superhuman strength and the ability to control others, which makes her a dangerous puppet master for an organization like the Hand. If this ends up being true, Peter isn’t just dealing with ninjas… he’s dealing with someone who can turn people into weapons.
On top of that, scooper The Beyond Reporter also shared some details about a sequence teased in the trailer, saying that Spider-Man’s fight against the Hand inside a prison is part of “a long action sequence” that involves Man-Spider and Punisher.
Another insider, MAJESTIC_ucm, claims that Daredevil could also show up during that fight. That would actually track, considering Matt Murdock’s long and complicated history with the Hand in the MCU.
If he does appear, it could turn that prison sequence into one of the most intense action set pieces Marvel has put together in a while.
Between the growing list of villains, the return of the Hand, and the possible introduction of Spider-Queen, Brand New Day looks like it’s building a much bigger world around Peter Parker.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and it’s currently set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026 as part of Marvel’s Phase 6.
