Awesome First Trailer For SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Has Spidey Struggling, Fighting, and Leveling Up
After a full 24 hours of drip-fed teases that tested everyone’s patience, Marvel finally pulled the trigger and released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day! The footage hits hard with a fresh direction for the MCU’s wall-crawler while reminding us that Peter Parker’s life is still an absolute mess.
This next chapter picks up after the emotional fallout of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Peter made the ultimate sacrifice and let the world forget who he is. That includes MJ and Ned, which still hurts.
The trailer leans into that loss, showing a Peter who’s trying to keep moving forward while carrying the weight of everything he gave up. It’s a clean slate on paper, but nothing about his situation feels simple.
Tom Holland returns as Peter, and you can feel the internal tug-of-war right away. He’s balancing the responsibilities of being Spider-Man with the reality that he’s now completely alone. The tone feels more grounded, but the chaos hasn’t gone anywhere. In fact, it’s just getting crazier!
Frank Castle is back in action, played once again by Jon Bernthal. It awesome to see the Punisher in a Spider-Man movie! Their first encounter looks brutal, with Castle literally ramming a van into Peter. Their dynamic already feels tense, which makes sense considering how differently they operate.
We also get a glimpse of Mark Ruffalo back as Bruce Banner, hinting that Hulk-related threads might play a role in whatever’s unfolding here. On top of that, the trailer teases some new developments in Peter’s abilities.
It looks like stress and pressure are pushing his powers into new territory, which could lead to some unexpected consequences.
Even with the reset, MJ and Ned still orbit Peter’s world, even if they don’t know who he is anymore. That emotional distance is clearly going to be a major driving force in the story. Watching Peter exist so close to the people he loves without being part of their lives adds a layer of tension that hits harder than any villain reveal.
Speaking of mysteries, Sadie Sink is nowhere to be found in the trailer. Marvel is keeping that card close, and the speculation is already all over the place. With her also tied to Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s obvious she’s stepping into something major. Whether that connects to mutants or something else entirely, we’re all just guessing for now.
The trailer delivers exactly what it needed to. It sets the tone, raises questions, and gives fans enough to chew on without giving everything away. It feels like a new era for Spider-Man, but one that doesn’t forget the emotional baggage that got him here.
The trailer did a great job getting me pumped up for the film! Also, I absolutley loved the last shot of this trailer!
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, and if this first look is any indication, Peter Parker’s “fresh start” is going to be anything but easy.
