SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY TV Spots and Featurette Bring Classic Comic Covers to Life in Awesome New Footage

A pair of new TV spots and a featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day have arrived online, giving fans another exciting look at the next chapter in Peter Parker's story while showcasing how the filmmakers recreated some of Spider-Man's most iconic comic book covers in live-action.

The featurette is especially fun for longtime comic book fans. It dives into the creative process of taking legendary Spider-Man cover art and translating it to the big screen with incredible accuracy.

Tom Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton discuss how those memorable images influenced the film, and the footage offers fresh looks at Ramrod along with another fight between Spider-Man and Scorpion.

Up until now, many fans assumed Spider-Man and Mac Gargan would only battle once in the movie, but the new footage confirms they throw down at least twice.

One fight takes place in the snowy setting we've already seen, while another unfolds at night. One of the TV spots also hints that the movie's mysterious villain may be manipulating Gargan's mind during that nighttime confrontation.

Interestingly, Scorpion still hasn't been shown wearing his signature helmet or mask in any official footage. Merchandise for the film has included the classic look, but that should probably be taken with a grain of salt since those toys also feature a different version of his mechanical tail.

The new footage also includes additional scenes featuring Peter Parker alongside MJ and Ned Leeds. Fans also get another look at several completed visual effects shots, including the hilarious sequence where Peter reacts with complete disgust to his new organic webbing.

Holland recently teased that fans might actually be closer to the truth than they realize when it comes to all the speculation surrounding the movie.

"Some of the wildest fan theories are like weirdly accurate to what is happening in the movie," Tom Holland recently teased in an interview to promote Spider-Man: Brand New Day. "I don’t want to give any fuel to the flames before the movie comes out...[my] lips are sealed."

In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, “it's a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control.

“But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31.
