SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Halts Filming After Tom Holland Suffers Concussion From Stunt Accident
Production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has temporarily shut down after Tom Holland was injured on set. The actor was hospitalized last Friday at Leavesden Studios in Watford, UK, after a stunt went wrong during filming.
According to Deadline, Holland suffered a mild concussion and is now taking some time off "out of precaution." The outlet also reported that production meetings are underway to adjust the shooting schedule while he recovers.
British tabloid The Sun noted that the actor made an appearance at a charity dinner on Saturday with his father, Dominic Holland, and his fiancée and co-star Zendaya, though he reportedly left early after not feeling well. Dominic later confirmed that his son would be stepping away from filming "for a while."
Thankfully, reports suggest this is only a short break and Holland is expected to be back on set soon.
Filming on Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man movie kicked off last month in Glasgow, where fans caught plenty of behind the scenes shots online, revealing Peter Parker’s new suit and even teasing the possible villain.
The film will see Mark Ruffalo reprise his role as The Hulk, marking his first MCU appearance since She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Jon Bernthal is confirmed to return as The Punisher after showing up in Daredevil: Born Again. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are back as MJ and Ned, and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has joined the cast in a secret role.
Holland recently shared how much this film means to him, saying:
"For me, I want to do justice to Peter Parker's character. I want to bring the fans something that's really worthy of their time, and I'm very grateful for their investment in our franchise. I don't mean financially, I mean the time to go to the cinema three times. That's a big ask."
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026, just before the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
