SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Almost Saw Doctor Strange Battle Through Scenes of Other SPIDER-MAN Movies; Concept Art
Marvel movie concept artist Phil Saunder recently shared some new details regarding Spider-Man: No Way Home, and a cool concept the creative team considered that didn’t make it into the movie. Saunder shared some concept art for the movie along with a note explaining that we almost got to see Doctor Strange battle through classic scenes from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films! He explained:
“One early idea for Spidey and Dr. Strange's chase through the multiverse was to have them battle over the source of the spell (in this early version the Book of Vishanti) through scenes from the previous movies. We were given a couple of days to play with that idea, taking screen caps from the movies and painting in Spidey and Doc. I liked the idea of taking the familiar shots and shifting the gravity and POV so that the characters would be in a completely different orientation than the action.”
That would’ve actually been a lot of fun to see brought to life! At least there’s concept art that exists for us to enjoy! In them, we see Doctor Strange and Peter Parker fighting at Bonesaw McGraw’s wrestling cage from Spider-Man 2 and the clock tower from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and more. Check out the art below and tell us what you think!
