SPIDER-VERSE Producer Is Trying to Make a BATMAN BEYOND Animated Film at WB and Here's Some Cool Art

Batman Beyond has a big and loyal fan base that has been wanting to see a film adaptation for years. Well, writer-director Patrick Harpin (My Dad the Bounty Hunter) and production designer and producer Yuhki Demers (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse) have teamed up to pitch an animated Batman Beyond movie to Warner Bros.!

They made their first initial pitch several months ago, and they are still in the process of trying to get the movie made. They even shared some art for their pitch on Instagram, and it looks awesome! In the images, we see Terry McGinnis in Neo-Gotham and facing off with the villain Inque, who is from the original show. The art came with the following details:

5 months ago we walked into @wbpictures @DCofficial and pitched a Batman Beyond Animated Feature.

Before we pitched, they warned us “there is absolutely no way we can do a 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 movie”, but they loved our enthusiasm. We pitched the outline for the entire film, and what started as a ‘never’ turned into a ‘maybe’.

In the time since, we’ve been pitching our way up the company hoping to get to @jamesgunn. But for now, here’s a taste of what we’ve been cooking.

It’s awesome to see that they’ve actually made some progress with this, but it still seems like they have a long way to go. I’ll tell you what, WB and DC Studios would be stupid not to do this! This would be such a huge hit. I know fans have been hoping for a live-action adaptation of Batman Beyond, but I think a high-quality animated movie would be way more awesome, especially with what is being done these days with animation.

I’m looking at this art, and I would love nothing more than to see this movie get made! Check it out!

Batman Beyond is set in a futuristic Gotham City, where an elderly Bruce Wayne mentors teenager Terry McGinnis to become the new Batman. Taking place several decades in the future, the show explores themes of legacy, technology, and the evolving nature of crimefighting. Terry, armed with a high-tech suit and gadgets, navigates a city plagued by new villains and challenges while uncovering secrets from Bruce's past. Together, they form a dynamic duo, blending the classic Batman mythos with innovative storytelling and futuristic elements.
