STAR TREK 4 Will Reportedly Feature a New Female Hero and Female Villain and Will Start Production in 2019
Star Trek 4 is already making history with it being the first film in the franchise to be directed by a woman. That woman is SJ Clarkson, who previously directed episodes of Marvel's The Defenders. As they continue to press forward with the goal of diversity, That Hashtag Show is reporting that the producers are looking to two actresses in the roles of a new hero to join Captain Kirk's crew and the main villain who will fight against them.
They are looking for actresses between the ages of 45 and 60 to fill these roles and apparently, The Walking Dead star Danai Guira is in talks to play one of them. We just don't know if it is for the hero or the villain.
It's also being reported that the film could end up going into production in early 2019. As we get closer to that time, I'm sure we'll get additional information on the casting and story.
Star Trek 4 will reunite Captain James T. Kirk with his father, George Kirk, played by Chris Hemsworth. The tagline for the film reads, "Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never got to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father."
As always, we'll keep you updated on the details as they become available. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on this latest news?
