Awesome New AHSOKA Series Story Details Are Sure to Get STAR WARS Fans Excited!
I’ve got some pretty exciting news to share with you regarding Dave Filoni’s upcoming live-action Ahsoka series that a lot of Star Wars fans are going to love. Before I go on, this information contains major spoilers, and it comes from Making Star Wars, which tends to be right on the info that they share.
The story follows Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) as they hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn in hopes that it will lead them to find the lost Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi who disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. I previously got to see some footage that was pretty awesome.
So, now that that’s out of the way, let’s dive in!
First, we’re going to see a younger version of Ahsoka Tano in the series that will be played by a different actress. While Rosario Dawson is in the series, she will not play this younger version of the character, and neither will Ahsoka’s voice actress Ashley Eckstein. This young version of Ahsoka will appear in small flashback sequences.
Then, the versions of Ahsoka that will see include one in her late teens, one for another undisclosed time, which might be present-day Ahsoka in terms of the narrative itself, and then there will be the version we saw in the final moment of Star Wars Rebels in her white robes.
Next, we will see Ahsoka fight Darth Vader “in more than one way and Hayden Christensen required some training for a sequence in the series because we will see his face again on screen, wearing the same costume he wore on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith.”
The story will also include several possible outcomes for Ahsoka’s life “and how in essence, no matter what, they all lead to a particular moment in her story.” The report explains: “If Ahsoka had returned to the Jedi Order, she would be the one fighting Darth Vader on Mustafar having the high ground, not Obi-Wan Kenobi, because what happened had to happen, to get Tano to where she and the Skywalkers needed to be. I can also confirm Hayden Christensen filmed fight scenes with Clone Wars Ahsoka in this scenario.”
As for the plot of Dawson’s present-day Ahsoka, “she will learn that Anakin Skywalker was destined to take the path he did and we the audience will see aspects of those outcomes and in some of them we see live action Clone Wars era Ahsoka Tano played by a new actor in a duel with her former Jedi Master, taking the place of Obi-Wan Kenobi in this reality that never was.”
The report goes on to reveal other visions of an alternate past, showing that even if Ahsoka had killed Thrawn and Ezra Bridger did not need to use the Purrgil, Ahsoka’s destiny wouldn’t have changed.
The theme of the series seems to be that Ahsoka is learning that she can’t change her destiny. She is working through her regrets, and learning to embrace her destiny. This series is going to be so badass! I can’t wait to watch it!
Dave Filoni previously said of the series: "Ahsoka is a continuous story. It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That's what I want the character to be doing, and I think that's what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I've only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older – they're very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be."
What do you think about these new details that have been shared!?
