Stephen Graham Joins The Cast of VENOM 2
Stephen Graham (Snatch, Gangs of New York, Boardwalk Empire, The Irishman) has joined the cast of director Andy Serkis’ Venom 2. There’s no work on who he’ll be playing, but he will join the previously cast Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson and Naomie Harris.
There’s not much known about the story, but we do know that Harrelson’s Cletus Kasaday a.k.a. Carnage will appear in the film along with Harris’ Shriek, the romantic interest of Kasaday, and they will most likely team up in this story to face off against Hardy’s Venom.
When previously talking about the film, Serkis said:
“I’m right at the beginning stages. I’ve got some very clear ideas about the journey I’d like to see visually and how we can take the characters into another dimension.”
Serkis went on to say that actor Tom Hardy is “very involved with the writing” on the project. Kelly Marcell is writing the script for the film and the new story is “very much centered around their take.” He goes on to talk about being collaborative with his creative team, saying:
“What I’ve learned from directing full stop is you’re working with an extraordinarily team of highly talented people and to create an atmosphere where everyone is able to do their work to 150%. As much as anything, directing is about creating an atmosphere of people not being afraid to step forward with their very best work.”
I thought the first Venom film was OK. I know a lot of fans enjoyed it, but I’m hoping that the sequel ends up being better than the first one.
