Stephen King's MISTER YUMMY is Getting a Feature Film Adaptation

Intrinsic Value Films is diving into the eerie imagination of Stephen King with a new adaptation of his haunting short story Mister Yummy.

Described as a chilling yet emotional tale, Mister Yummy follows a man coming to terms with his own mortality, where death feels ever-present and regret lingers like a ghost that never lets go. The screenplay is written by Troy Blake, and Thomas Mahoney (Brian) is set to produce.

While many of King’s stories lean into the supernatural, Mister Yummy takes a more introspective approach exploring aging, memory, and the way people confront their past. It’s the kind of story that sneaks up on you, wrapping horror around heartbreak.

The film is part of Intrinsic Value’s slate for this year’s American Film Market, and it fits perfectly with the studio’s focus on character-driven storytelling and emotional depth.

Aimee Schoof, co-founder of Intrinsic Value Films, shared her excitement for what’s ahead, saying, “After years of producing films we deeply believed in, we’re excited to make Intrinsic Value a visible brand in its own right. We’re honoring the spirit that’s always guided us — collaboration, discovery, and great storytelling.”

Megan Freels Johnston, Head of Development, added, “Our focus is expanding, but our foundation remains the same. Every project begins with story, integrity, and the relationships that make filmmaking meaningful.”

With King’s timeless ability to turn fear into into an emotional heartfelt story, Mister Yummy is sure to deliver a story that will be hauntingly heartfelt.
