Stephen King's THE BOOGEYMAN Star David Dastmalchian Says It's "One of the Scariest Films in a Long Time"
Stephen King's The Boogeyman star David Dastmalchian has high praise for the horror film that is sure to get horror movie fans excited. During a recent interview, the actor said the movie is "one of the scariest films" he's seen in a long time, and he also explained how it shares similarities with another upcoming horror movie he will appear in, the Dracula-inspired film, Last Voyage of the Demeter. He explained to CB:
"I'm sure Stephen King would acknowledge that his voice was shaped by Stoker in a way. Like I'm sure that that was a huge influence on him as an young person, early reader and writer. Both of those films are so different from one another and they're both incredible.
“The Boogeyman is... I got to see it... It's one of the scariest films I've seen in a long time. The performances are amazing. And then Last Voyage of the Demeter, I have not seen the film yet, but what I have seen doing ADR was incredible. It's an amazing story. I'm so glad I got to be a part of that one."
It sounds like Dastmalchian has gotten to be involved with some great horror film projects, and I’m looking forward to watching both of them!
In The Boogyman, “High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.”
In Last Voyage of the Demeter, “Based on a single chapter, the Captain's Log, from Bram Stoker's classic 1897 novel Dracula, the story is set aboard the Russian schooner Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo - twenty-four unmarked wooden crates - from Carpathia to London. The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a terrifying presence on board the ship. When it finally arrived near Whitby Harbour, it was a derelict. There was no trace of the crew.
