STRANGER THINGS Season 3 Will Feature a "Beautiful Storyline For Eleven"

Stranger Things Season 3 is currently deep in production but producer and director Shawn Levy took a break to talk about the upcoming series at Netflix’s FYSee event with stars Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp.

While there, they talk about all different kinds of aspects of the series. They don't offer any major plot details, but they do dive into various aspects of the story and what we can expect. When talking about the tone of Season 3, Schnapp told Variety:

"Season 1, I feel like, was more playful. Season 2 was a lot darker. And then Season 3 does really well blending them together, and that’s what I love about it."

The first two seasons have been fantastic and it will be interesting to see what Schnapp means because I've felt that there's been a good mix of playfulness and Darkness in both seasons. Maybe this one just blends it together better or there's a more equal mix?

Bobby Brown goes on to talk about her character Eleven and how now that the character is free, she will be able to focus on her own identity and personal development.

"It’s a beautiful storyline for Eleven this season. It’s really a coming of age for her and understanding what being a normal teenage girl is."

Eleven has been such a fascinating character to follow in this series and now Season 3 will give us a completely different side of her that we've never seen before as she adjusts to life and who she can be. When talking about her experience in Season 2 and being isolated from the rest of the young cast, she says:

"I found another side of my acting that I didn’t know about. I found techniques on how to cry and how to get angry, and I learned so much from Eleven, from those episodes of being isolated, that when I’m back Season 3, things happen — stranger things happen. I’m just saying I use that style of acting now and my method of acting for Season 3."

Sounds like Season 3 is going to kick things in a whole new gear. Not only are the story and characters evolving, but so are actors as they continue to grow and improve their acting skills.

Stranger Things Season 3 also stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, and Sadie Sink as Max.

Levy previously revealed that the third season would take place one year after the second season, so that would set it during the summer of 1985. He also teased the relationships of the teen characters. When the story picks up Eleven and Mike will be a couple as will Lucas and Max. He also said that Steve Harrington will have a bigger role in the story this time around and that Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg's film Back to the Future will be a reference in the upcoming season.
