SUPERGIRL Teaser Trailer Launches Milly Alcock’s Woman of Tomorrow
The first teaser for Supergirl has taken flight, and it wastes no time showing audiences that this DCU adventure is operating on its own wild wavelength.
DC Studios told us to “Look Out” for this one, and the preview makes it clear why. Milly Alcock steps into the role of Kara Zor-El with a mix of swagger, heart, and raw chaos as she rockets into an interstellar journey driven by vengeance and justice.
The trailer throws out any assumption that Kara is cut from the same cloth as her cousin Superman. The vibe here is sharp and mischievous, shaped by director Craig Gillespie, who leans into the same punk rock filmmaking attitude he brought to Cruella.
A well-timed Blondie needle drop snaps us into Kara’s current life since we last saw her appear in Superman, and it instantly sets the tone. No heroic fanfare. No graceful orchestral build. Just pure, out of control, cosmic party energy. If you want to tear across the galaxy with someone who treats danger like a dance floor, Kara is your pilot.
Much of the teaser focuses on Kara protecting Ruthye Marye Knoll while dodging a barrage of intergalactic bounty hunters. The danger keeps mounting until we get the moment fans have been waiting for.
Jason Momoa storms in as Lobo, sporting a full transformation that finally shows us what the Main Man looks like in this new universe. It is just a brief appearance, but the presence is unmistakable and it hints at a wild dynamic between these two characters.
For Alcock, stepping into this role was a massive leap and she’s been candid about the pressure of becoming the DCU’s Woman of Tomorrow.
She explained, "I thought, 'What have I done?' I really struggled to believe I could do it. I even called the director [Craig Gillespie] saying, 'I don't know how to be that person. I'm just me.'"
Supergirl arrives next summer from Warner Bros. Pictures and features Alcock playing both Kara Zor-El and her heroic alter ego. Gillespie directs from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, with a cast that includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
The story sends Kara on a reluctant team up after a ruthless threat strikes close to home, pushing her into an odyssey that mixes revenge, justice, and a surprising partnership.
“When an unexpected and ruthless enemy threatens, Kara Zor-El is forced, against her will, to team up with an unlikely companion. Together, they embark on an epic cosmic journey where revenge and justice are at stake – and where Kara must confront her origins to find her own path as a hero.”
Supergirl opens in IMAX and theaters across North America on June 26, 2026, with international releases beginning June 24, 2026.
With this energetic first look, the DCU’s Woman of Tomorrow is officially ready to take flight and shake up the universe. It definitly has some Guardians of the Galaxy energy.
