Taylor Sheridan and Jeremy Renner's MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+
Paramount+ is officially moving forward with a third season of Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown, and we can expect Jeremy Renner to return as Mike McLusky. Renner previously got speculation rolling with his return when he shared photos of his character in the series with the caption: “Might be time to start mental preparation for 3?”
As you know, Renner had gone through an extensive recovery process after he was critically injured in a snowplow accident in January in which he broke more than 30 bones in his body. His recovery has been pretty amazing.
The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
When previously talking about the future of the series, showrunner Hugh Dillon said: "Taylor and I have multiple ideas for multiple seasons.” As of right now, with Renner set to return, it looks like they will get to tell the full story that they have planned out. It’s great to see that Renner is coming back to work after the insanity that he went through.
