Teaser Trailer For GEORGE A. ROMERO'S RESIDENT EVIL Documentary

There’s a documentary currently in development titled George A. Romero’s Resident Evil, and the first teaser trailer has been released for it. In 1998, director George A. Romero pitched a Resident Evil script to Constantin Films.

This documentary, which comes from director Brandon Salisbury dives into and explores Romero’s ambitious unmade Resident Evil movie. The doc aims to “immerse the audience in a cinematic horror aesthetic.”

The film will pay homage to Romero’s style and the game itself with George A. Romero’s Resident Evil. It even takes place in a mansion that will be reminiscent of Resident Evil‘s Spencer Mansion, and it will be shot to mimic Romero’s filmmaking style.

The teaser is cut together using clips from Romero’s Night of the Living Dead and Capcom’s classic game. It also features voice clips from interviews with those who were involved in Romero’s film. The final documentary will also include archived footage and “unearthed documents” in regards to the unproduced project.

Romero’s original script leaked online, and it stayed relatively close to the source material. It would have been really cool to see Romero actually make it. Unfortunately, Capcom didn’t care for the script due to its violent content, which is just ridiculous.
