Teaser Trailer for Netflix's Fantasy Adventure Animated Film NIMONA with Chloë Grace Moretz
Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming fantasy action adventure animated movie Nimona. The movie is based on the graphic novel by ND Stevenson, and the story follows a teenager named Nimona with the power to shapeshift, who is targeted by a knight for assassination. When the Knight is accused of a crime he didn’t commit, he needs Nimona’s help.
The movie was directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, who previously helmed Spies in Disguise. The voice cast for the film includes Chloë Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed, Eugene Lee Yang, Frances Conroy, Lorraine Toussaint, Beck Bennett, Indya Moore, Julio Torres, and RuPaul Charles.
In the film: “When Ballister Boldheart (Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn't commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem — who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona’s the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc — for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to… just wreak serious havoc.”
The film project was originally set up at Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios, but after Disney bought 20th Century Fox they canceled it. Annapurna Pictures ended up taking on the project, and Netflix is going to release it.
Netflix will debut Nimona on June 30th, 2023.
