Teaser Trailer for DC's Two-Part Animated WATCHMEN Movie
The first teaser trailer for DC's two-part animated Watchmen movie is here, and it looks like it will be a shot-for-shot adaptation of the iconic Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons graphic novel.
It was also confirmed that the film will be a CG-rendered film. The film is said to be a "leap forward for our DC Cinematic Animation," and the footage that screened at the Annecy Film Festival was described as "very vibrant."
Watchmen follows an alternative history in the U.S. in which superheroes emerged in the 1940s, the US won the Vietnam War, and the Watergate scandal was never revealed.
In the story, the US and USSR are closing in on WWIII, while most superheroes are either working for the government or are in retirement.
It follows the moral struggle of superheroes Rorschach, Doctor Manhattan, the Nite Owl and others as they come out of retirement to deal with the murder of Edward Blake, known as The Comedian, a state-sponsored superhero.
I was actually hoping that this would be a direct adaptation of the comic, and I’m looking forward to watching it!
