TED LASSO Season 4 Teaser Trailer Highlights Ted’s New Coaching Challenge
If you thought the story of Ted Lasso had wrapped up for good, think again. Ted Lasso is officially making its return, and fans finally have something real to hold onto.
Apple TV dropped a teaser trailer along with the long-awaited premiere date, confirming the beloved series is back on Wednesday, August 5.
It’s been three years since we last saw Ted walking away from Richmond, and the new footage gives us a quick but exciting peek at where life has taken everyone since then. The return feels both familiar and refreshingly different, setting up a new chapter that doesn’t just revisit old ground.
Season 3 closed out in May 2023 with Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso stepping down from AFC Richmond to head back to Kansas City. His decision was rooted in something simple and heartfelt, being closer to his son Henry.
In those final moments, Ted looked content coaching his kid’s soccer team, trading Premier League pressure for something more personal and grounded.
But peace doesn’t always last forever. Season 4 shakes things up by pulling Ted back to Richmond, only this time the challenge is completely different.
Instead of leading the Greyhounds, he’s stepping into the world of a second division women’s football team. It’s a fresh direction for the series, opening the door to new dynamics, new players, and a different kind of underdog story.
The official description teases what’s ahead: “In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
There’s also a small but notable change in the cast lineup. Ted’s son Henry will now be played by Grant Feely, taking over the role from Gus Turner.
The teaser itself doesn’t give too much away, but that’s part of the fun. It hints at reunions, new personalities, and the kind of heartfelt humor the show built its reputation on. It also suggests that while Ted may be returning to familiar territory, the stakes and circumstances are anything but the same.
Honestly, it’s just great to have this show back. The mix of humor, optimism, and genuine character growth made it stand out in the first place, and this new direction feels like a smart way to keep things moving without repeating itself.
Enjoy the trailer!
