TERRIFIER Director Knows How the Franchise Will End and It Might Take Two More Films to Finish
Terrifier creator and director Damien Leone knows how he will bring his horror franchise to an end. He recently talked about that and revealed that it might take two more movies to finish the Terrifier story.
While talking to GamesRadar+, the filmmaker said: "I know the ending, which is most important. I know certain scenes throughout, and I just started developing the intro to it.
“So, that's pretty much all these movies start that way. They're like puzzle pieces, and then I need to fill in the gaps."
While the director previously said announced the next Terrifier movie, that doesn’t seem like that’s the case. Leone explains: "I wasn't supposed to announce it.
“Now it's a question of, can I fit everything I want to fit before I get to that finale? Can I fit it in one more movie, or is it maybe going to take me two movies before I get there? So, yeah, we'll see, it's a little too premature."
So, it looks like there’s a strong possibility that Art The Clown will continue to brutal murder people through a couple more movies, which is sure to make fans of the franchise happy.
As for what the director is planning after he’s done with the Terrifier franchise, he has some ideas. He said: "There are other opportunities that have come my way as well, things that aren't necessarily hard, but there's a true crime thing that's come across my desk. Really a new direction for me to new playground."
Leone goes on to say that one reason why he’s so interested in true crime is trying to figure out why people, especially women, are so obsessed with true crime podcasts and documentaries.
Leone has promised that this next installment will be the goriest film in the franchise.
This next chapter of the story is set five years after the events of Terrifier 2. Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
Returning cast includes Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), Elliot Fullam (Jonathan Shaw) and AEW superstar Chris Jericho (Burke), with Daniel Roebuck set to debut as Santa Claus.
Makeup effects legend Tom Savini, Jason Patric, Antonella Rose, Krsy Fox, Clint Howard, and Jon Abrahams also appear.
Terrifier 3 opens exclusively in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2024.
