TERRIFIER Horror Franchise Creator Says TERRIFIER 3 Will Be the Scariest One Yet
Damien Leone’s Terrifier 2 was a huge hit with horror fans this year and audiences flocked to theaters to see what all the hype was about. Because of its success, you can bet your ass we are going to see a Terrifier 3! In fact, the director previously teased the story might be so big that he will have to split it into two films. Leone explained:
"Right now, I would like to just tell a solid story where it has a nice arc for my heroes, my villains, it's complete. So a three is, I can almost guarantee a part three. After that? We'll see if there's anything left and if the fans still are still accepting of this character and this franchise.
"I pretty much have the entire treatment ready for 'Part 3,' but it's getting so big that it could potentially split into a 'Part 4' because I wouldn't want to make another 2 hour 20-minute movie. So we'll see."
Now the filmmaker is saying that Terrifier 3 will be the scariest film in the franchise yet. He said:
"One of my main goals for Terrifier 3 is to recapture the creep factor present in the original Terrifier short film. That had a genuinely spooky atmosphere that I'm still proud of. If all goes as planned, part 3 will be the scariest Terrifier thus far."
I don’t really find the franchise all that scary; it’s more of just a blood and gore fest. Slasher films don’t really scare me in general, though. I like films that mess with your mind, in my opinion, the whole less is more horror movie route is so much more interesting and scary. But, some people like seeing all of the gory details.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the filmmaker does with this next chapter of the franchise to make it scarier.
