Test Audiences Lost Their Minds Watching MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE

It sounds like Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is going to be a kickass movie! Paramount Global president Bob Bakish recently offered an update on the film and how in the first test screening, audience members were losing their minds! That’s a very good sign! But, the film still needs a little work because it’s still too long.

During the Paramount panel at this year’s Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference, Bakish Explained:

"I haven’t seen all of Mission: Impossible 7, but I’ve seen a bunch of it. We actually just did the first test screening for an audience last week, and the audience lost their mind. And it’s still too long, they’ve got to cut it. But the movie is insane. It’s like a complete thrill ride. And [Tom Cruise], he’s very good."

There’s been a lot of hype building for this movie the crazy stunt videos that have been released so far. We’ve got footage of a plane stunt that he is doing for the movie and, of course, there’s that insane stunt where he races a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump, which is said to be “The Biggest Stunt in Cinema History.”

On top of that, Cary Elwes excitedly said that, "The scale of the picture is extraordinary; I think that it will be the biggest film in the franchise."

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), and Mark Gatiss. Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two will be released on July 14th, 2023, and June 28th, 2024. You can watch the teaser trailer for the movie here.
